So I am reading this collection of short stories, "Side Jobs", by Jim Butcher. It's part of the Dreseden files series of books. I he makes and interesting point. As part of the action in one of the stories, The "Old Demons" are trying to get back to Earth to wreck havoc. The reason they can't is no one believes in them anymore. Butcher says the same thing about the "Old Gods."
Has G-d left history, has he stopped talking to prophets for the same kind of reason, that not enough people believe in him?
